Where Southern hospitality meets storytelling, creativity, and community.
Hi, I’m Stef Gorman — the heart behind Fork of the South.
If we haven’t met yet, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a former elementary school teacher turned entrepreneur, maker-lover, memory-builder, and community cheerleader who believes deeply in the magic of connection. I’ve always felt that the best things in life happen around a table — a shared meal, a warm drink, a story told, a laugh shared. Fork of the South was born from that belief: that people deserve a place where they feel seen, welcomed, and at home.
What started with the support of my husband, Steve, as a small general store celebrating local makers has grown into a vibrant destination at The Factory in Franklin — a place filled with ice cream, milkshakes, dirty sodas, candy martinis, seasonal experiences, handmade flannels, and the sweetest Southern Tea Room you’ll ever step into.
But at its core, it’s always been about people.
It’s about welcoming families after Saturday ball games.
It’s about watching kids light up over a milkshake piled high with magic.
It’s about honoring Tennessee makers, dreamers, and doers.
It’s about creating a space where every guest becomes part of the story.
I’m passionate about building community, fostering creativity, and cheering on small businesses — and I’m grateful every single day for the incredible team, loyal customers, and new friends who make this place feel like home.
Whether you’re here for a shake, a tea experience, a cozy flannel, a soda on the patio, or simply to wander through the general store, I hope you feel the warmth, joy, and intentionality behind every detail.
Welcome, friend.
You’re part of the Fork of the South family now — and I’m honored you’re here.
